As we approach the ninth anniversary of the death of the servant of God Carmen Hernández, on July 19, 2025, Kiko, Fr. Mario, and Ascensión would like to remind us of this very special date, the return of Carmen to the Father.
The postulator for the Cause of Canonization confirms that the final preparations are being made in this diocesan phase of gathering, analyzing, and classifying the numerous documents and testimonies of the process. We are confident that by the middle of the 2025-2026 academic year, the diocesan phase of the Cause for Beatification and Canonization of Carmen will be closed.

For this ninth anniversary, Kiko, Fr. Mario, and Ascensión invite everyone to celebrate the Eucharist in every parish on Saturday, July 19, asking the Lord for the eternal rest of her soul and that the diocesan phase of her canonization process may be closed and move on to the Roman phase.
One of the catechists or parish leaders can give a talk about an aspect of Carmen’s life, reminding the faithful that if they have received any grace through her intercession, they should write about it on this website or send an email to:
As in previous years, the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Madrid will be open all day on July 19 for those who wish to visit Carmen’s tomb.

We would also like to remind you that two more books about Carmen have been published this year: the first is entitled “Corazón indiviso. Misión y virginidad en Carmen Hernández” (Undivided Heart: Mission and Virginity in Carmen Hernández) and the other is “La sierva de Dios Carmen Hernández. Su vida y su misión en 50 preguntas” (The Servant of God Carmen Hernández: Her Life and Mission in 50 Questions). Both books will be useful for the Jubilee pilgrimage of young people to Rome in early August 2025.
The first is for catechists or priests to speak to young people about the great value of mission, virginity, celibacy, and Christian marriage. The second book is a simple biography, suitable for everyone, but especially aimed at young people, which will help them to get to know Carmen better and to reflect together on the gift she has been for the Way and for the Church. Its original format with questions and answers, accompanied by many unpublished photos, makes it very readable and enjoyable.
